The second saddest scene from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
Why this is sad:
- After years of waiting for him and pining for him - the perfect guy - he's finally in love with her.
- He's expressing it in a totally romantic fashion.. there's imaginary, magical music.. dancing.. bodies pressed close together in the rain.. *sigh*.. it's perfect (well.. *I* think it's perfect.. some of you loserly, unromantic types may disagree!)
- But then - BAM! She realizes that she now belongs to somebody else and can't have the love of her life.. because how would the other guy feel? But wait a minute, who cares what he feels? This is what she wants! But, then again, she can't hurt the other guy now, considering he's wanted her so long. So what if being with him is a compromise? But no - its not true love, it never has been! And now true love is knocking on her door and she can't open it! Dammit dammit dammit!
Now if that isn't sad, I don't know what is.

The first would be the scene where she leaves on the train, and Shah Rukh goes "boy, i'll miss you yaar"?
ReplyDeleteNope. The first is the last scene in the movie where Aman gives up Anjali. "Main iss pyaar ke beech mein kaise aasakta hoon.. yeh toh kabhi mera tha hi nahin."
