I say finally because most long weekends are spent either travelling, being tired or feeling crabby because the weekend was such a disappointment.

Left work at 3pm!
Checked out Macy's window displays on State Street!
Watched ABC's evening news being taped live in the studio!
Thursday
Relaxed with hubby (always fun ;))
Cooked for Friday's dinner party - Cranberry Sauce, Gravy Base, Butter Chicken, Palak Paneer
Friday
7am: Got to Macy's and picked up a lovely dinner set for $99.99 (usual price $380.00)
8am: Got to Kohl's and picked up a bunch of gorgeous cashmere sweaters for $34.99 (usual price $85.00)
9am: Got to Circuit City and ordered a gorgeous 40" Sony Bravia LCD HDTV for $1,199 (usual price $1,999)
11am: Picked up yummy pumpkin pies from Bakers Square
And then spent the afternoon roasting a gorgeous turkey (see left), and the evening entertaining a bunch of friends. Fun :)Saturday
Received delivery of said TV and spent whole day watching football on ESPN-HD and Paul McCartney concerts on PBS-HD. Boring you say? Well check this pic out and tell me if you don't think he's sitting in my living room right there playing his tuntuna.Sunday
Breakfasted at the awesome Milk and Honey Cafe
Explored Millenium Park and the lights on Michigan Avenue (that's me by the Bean)
Watched Titanic on HD (LDC looks even better in high def :D)
All in all, a pretty good break from.. uh.. my last few days at work :P

ReplyDeleteonly thing is, it's such a clear picture that if you watch a non-HD channel (as most are) or a non-HD DVD, everything looks fuzzy.. so you have to get used to crappy picture quality for 90% of the time :P
Love the tv but since it's already been drooled over, I'll do the girl thing and go ooh nice sweater..btw, we have the same tv stand or have we already talked about this?
