Bridal Blog - Day Three

Oh how I wish this wedding was OVER. Sigh. 17 more excruciating days to go.

Have been tumbling around Dubai and Sharjah for two days and gotten almost nothing done. It's hard when the stores all shut down for the afternoon. We only manage to get ready by 11AM due to jetlag and general slowness. Then, we get in 2 hrs of work before the siesta shut down and eventually get out in the evenings when traffic is so bad that more time is spent in the car than getting things done. It is a slow and tedious process and probably won't get any easier anytime soon since people are not around to delegate to and they'll all show up just before the wedding anyway.

Word to the wise: don't dream of a big wedding. It's too tiring to put together!

Perhaps am also PMS'ed. And also missing Sarwar who is in Pakistan and who I probably won't see till the wedding (despite Paresh's indignance). Sigh.

Strangest realization of the day: the designer actually made my dress... too big! Bizarre. First time, too. But Mum actually proved very useful and mended the problem at home with minimum tears on my part (like, real tears. not metaphorically).

In general, everyone at home is in a state of constant pissiness. Everyone's tired and aggravated and getting on each other's nerves. Think we need some babies around to cheer each other up. Till then, I'm making do with Niks (who is annoying too but better than most).

Have shortlisted some jewellery sets. Hopefully shall be done by tomorrow.

Stupid salon people keep bumping my appointment forward 'cos the woman in charge is in Pakistan all the time and never shows up in Dubai when she says she's going to. Have now fixed a meeting for the 18th. She better be there. Grr.

Right, I'm sleepy and must be up very early to go to Gold Souk and then pop into Fairmont to make some more arrangements. Later.
