Destroyed...

...not in love, but by a disappointing movie that was a total waste of $63.00 for 5 adult movie tickets.

Fanaa was just sooooooo bad. Terrible ghissi pitti story, awful acting, full of holes and just.. so not worth Aamir Khan and Kajol. Hum Tum was obviously a fluke for Kunal Kohli (well it was pretty much When Harry Met Sally in Hindi) because Fanaa was even worse than Mujhse Dosti Karoge!

The only saving grace was the music - my current favorite is Chand Sifarish, which sounds better after you've gotten over the annoying whistling reminiscient of the uber-crappy song "Yaara yaara main toh hadh se guzar gaya re".

But seriously, the arrangement and composition of this song is actually quite remarkable. My favorite part is somewhere towards the middle where there's the fast-paced santoor (is that what its called? the metallic xylophone type thing you pling pling on with sticks?)... its like a blitz of sweet sound.. like blossoms falling from a tree, or a girl whirling around in a flowing skirt, or raindrops falling on leaves... hehe.. ek gaanay ko suna toh aisa lagaaa.... :)

I also really like Dekho Na and Mere Haath Mein.. but haven't listened to it super closely to get obsessd yet.

So, a crappy move overall but a very very good swan song by Jatin-Lalit, who are now splitting up after 16 years together. Yes, sad but true... they shall be missed :)
